EGG 101 Schedule: Friday, August 30, 2019
1:00pm – Lecture Class start (Introductions & syllabus)
Introduction of Fab Five-Pushkin, Shae, Matt, Tony, John
Pushkin and Shae to then go over the syllabus, expectations and the basic format of the class and modules
1:50pm – Class activity: Two truths and a lie – with the class GA/UTAs.
2:10pm – Class activity: Invisible barriers to success
Introduce the UTA’s and GA’s and have them assist and participate in the group activity.
Discuss the implications of stereotyping, discrimination and marginalization to engineering and science innovation.
2:40pm- Time Budgeting –Tony
2:55pm- Break
3:00pm Dr. Sarah Harris- Assessment
3:30pm – Classroom assignments & 10 minute break.
3:45pm – Classroom introductions
GA & UTA in-depth introductions.
UTA’s to talk about why they applied for an UTA position in the class.
Classroom names – As part of a group team-building activity the GA/UTAs will work with the class to come up with a name for the classroom.
Small-group assignments – students can self-select into groups of 4.
Group share – a memorably embarrassing
Each student will share one embarrassing memory with your group. Each group will select their favorite story to represent their group.
Each group representative will present to their classroom, and the top two memories will be voted on to share with the entire class.
4:45pm – Class dismissal.
