Math 431 - Mathematics for Scientists & Engineers-I
Fall : 3 credits
First order linear and non-linear differential equations, second and higher order differential equations with constant coefficients, Laplace transforms and applications, Gaussian elimination and eigenvalue problems, solutions of systems of differential equations. Credits: 3
Prerequisites: C or better in MATH 283 . Duplicate credits cannot be earned in any two of MATH 427 and MATH 431.
Notes: MATH 431 cannot count towards any major in the Department of Mathematical Science, but is allowed for the mathematics minor.
Grading
Tests: 70%; Final: 30%
Guaranteed Grades: A- ( > 90%); B- ( > 80%); C- ( > 70%);
